Signs you should write music for others and not try to perform it yourself.

1. When you realize you can't stand the sound of your own voice.
2. When you're male and the voice you heard singing the song in your head while you wrote it was female. Not surprising considering my biggest influences these days are Grimes and Neon Bunny.
3. When you keep hearing your pitch going *just a little bit off* in one part and it's like "urgh I know I can hit that note" but then when you sing it again and you hit that note correctly, there's another note that's *just a little bit* off.

And I was so happy to finally have something I was ready to record. :(

There's nothing wrong with writing music and having someone else perform it. That's totally sweet, too.

But I'm sure if you just kept at it, your own recording would turn out great as well. Remember, you're your own worst critic.

^ Since I've gotten into listening to pop music, I've actually really desired to write songs for others.

I'mma come back to it tomorrow. Still, I'm so disappointed to find out that my voice doesn't sound like Grimes's.

Man, #3 happens to me all the time. Sometimes you just gotta power through it. Or get really good at splicing takes together. ;)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Tried it again today. If I could sing it like I was singing it in the car last night I might have something.

^UGH. I know exactly what you mean. I ROCK OUT in the car. Then when I'm singing for something in front of people or with people, I'm just complete ****. :(

I think if I were singing in front of people, where it was an event in which I was expected to sing, I'd be fine. ..

... so long as the people weren't family or friends.

Actually, playing it over again in my head, I think it will sound better if I sing softly instead of try to belt. Which means I'll have to use a condenser mic instead of a dynamic mic, which is a bit of a hassle, but I own one and it's good so I really shouldn't complain. But I'll have to find the power supply first.
