The woes of weight loss ( I guess?)

Ok so disclaimer, this isn't a post about how I'm fat, I'm actually not anymore. I'm overweight still, but not fat. Long story short 7 months ago I weighed 336 pounds and yea, was fat. Today I weight 206 and am still losing. It took a while for me to stop calling myself fat (cause I still got a pooch so I still kinda feel fat) but I'm still categorized as overweight on a BMI chart, but not for long.

But I guess I don't really know if this counts as weight loss woes since it doesn't really have much to do with it, it's just kind of a direct result? Anyway, about a month ago I started to go running, cause I'd like to lean up and have a flat stomach for at least one day of my life. Problem is now, I feel incredibly fatigued, almost to the point where I can no longer stand up, but I can't pinpoint the source. I'm taking in about 1000 calories a day (I know it sounds crazy but this crazy program does work) so I'm thinking that it's just me overworking myself. It's just a pain in the butt, I want to gain some strength and endurance but I feel like I haven't gained either since starting to work out some 5 months ago. I still don't know if I can even build much now since I'm on such a low-calorie diet that too much exercise would do more harm than good. Then again, I also wonder if this fatigue could be a result of me reaching a mental breaking point of being crushed under the weight of my stressors(that's a whole other can of worms that I'm sure is not exacernated by working 6 days a week at a job I absolutely hate loathe and despise and really can't find a way to unwind because by the time I get home I have about 45 minutes before I need to be asleep or I will just be a dead man walking the next day.)

It just sucks that lately it has felt like I barely have the energy to walk, let alone stand. It also doesn't help that I am one of those stress eaters, and I have been trying to break that habit for the last 7 months but it has been REALLY bad as of late. Rantrantrant. I can't even think straight anymore.

All right. First and foremost, congrats on working to better yourself. Takes a hell of a lot of effort----good job sticking to it.

So.

If you're constantly fagged out, it's probably a good sign that you're working yourself too hard for your diet. A healthy diet for a two-hundred-pound man with a rigorous lifestyle sits around 2500-2800 cal per day. If you're restricting yourself to 1000-odd, you're basically starving yourself---of course you aren't building muscle in those circumstances.

Like, keep exercising, but eat whatever you damn well please (especially protein-heavy foods in concert with strength-building exercise, if you're after muscle mass). Alternately scale back your routine a hair. Your physical goals should be at least somewhat about feeling good in your skin, man---if you're going around all knock-kneed slump-shouldered owing to hunger, that's bad.

Oh, and seriously---f*ck that BMI horsesh*t. It's barely connected to reality. Totally neglects the fact that people have different body types. Like, all right, going solely by BMI, Arnold Schwarzenegger was obese every year he took the Mr. Universe title. What a sloppy fatassed piece of sh*t he was, eh? Except for no.

A friend of mine recently started working to lose weight, and he kinda (read: majorly) overexercises, so that's not unheard of or anything. First, scale back your routine like Booya said. Then, when you have more energy, I suggest you start looking for another job.

That's severely lame, man. I know it's summer basically everywhere else, but make sure you keep your body temp level, eat enough to keep you going, and by all means remember that sleep/rest is the best medicine.

As it is, your health might just be taking a dip because you picked up a mild bug, but it doesn't mean you should fob off the warning signs you're getting.

I have to eat protein-heavy diets or I'm totally out of energy, btw. It's just part of my chemistry, not much else to it.

And Boo already said something, but keep in mind that BMI is just statistical nonsense. Statistics are great for preparing for trends when dealing with a large amount of people, but they don't tend to mean much on a personal level - they can be a lot like a speedometer, always 10 kph/mph off one way or another. That besides, it's better to be a little bulky and alive than have washboard abs and dead.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

Yea, the whole BMI thing is a crock I agree, and it's really sad that it's the standard guideline most insurance companies follow for determining if you're healthy. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be in the "overweight" category for the rest of my life simple because I do want to add some muscle, and well lean muscle weighs more than fat so. Either was though I do intend to go to my doctor for a physical soon enough and just straight up ask her what my ideal weight would be. Thanks for reading and the suggestions guys.
