It's hardly as good as it could be, giving old and crappy games. Recently, there hasn't been much. Darksiders was just released through it, and that game is mundane. It's so bland, it hurts. Capcom's releases like Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Mega Man were fantastic if you didn't own them already, which I did not, but then there's weeks of crap, and the Vita is really getting the shaft...

Any other subscribers? And does anyone else think Darksider is chok?

I had it for a month as part of Sony's apology thing. It's nice to get free stuff and all, but I couldn't tell you if the price was worth it or not. Either way, I would rather not pay a monthly fee for video game content, personally.

Same as Tazy, I had the month thing. You were able to get Wipeout and inFamous, the problem being I had already bought inFamous, and I didn't feel like getting Wipeout.

Since November 20th, as far as I can recall, the releases have been Chronovolt, Retro City Rampage, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Jet Set Radio, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and I think that's it. We're not getting an update until the January 22nd, at which point there's no promise of a Vita game. So less than 10.

While they all have some merit, JSR is an old port and FFT is a PSP game. Chronovolt is not that good, so that's three off the list for decent reasons. Wipeout is popular and new so I guess that's fine, but it ain't for me. I like RCR but it has limited appeal, so I'm sure several people aren't thrilled. As for the rest, they're great games, I can't deny that.

To be clear, I don't think what they've released for Vita was bad. I just think that it would be fair to release 1 Vita game alongside their PS3 release. I got PS+ for my Vita, mainly. I don't think it's fair to support one platform less.

Darksiders is a hackjob of a game, and a disgrace to every series it draws influence from. Its character design can be described as "muscles with humanlike features". A wise man once wrote, "Better to avoid videogames and be thought a fool than to play Darksiders and remove all doubt." This innocent man was later assassinated by, according to historical evidence, an employee of Vigil, developer of this abomination of a product.

While I don't use playstation plus anymore, I can see why Sony decided to offer it. Sony's still a step above Microsoft in the fact that they don't charge you to play with others online. The high cost of Xbox Live Gold doesn't really give any additional benefits other than the ability to buy games online and play with eachother online. Sony's Playstation Plus is an attempt at a loyalty program to give you discounts on certain games and free to play games as long as you are a subscriber.

LotR GoME. I would rather get nothing, like I essentially did last week since I have Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, and let the following week be twice as good.

If it is not good again I am going to throw up.

Darksiders and I are on decent terms, but I haven't played very far in it.

^ Probably partially due to it's blandness. It may not be outright bad, but it doesn't draw you in. Like, if it were the only game left on earth, I would get around to it.

I feel like I would enjoy playing more of it, but I got it on PC and it's basically a very rudimentary console port which means the technology is rather outdated and the system menus are a bit awkward and suffer reduced functionality.

Most of the intro/tutorial of the game would've worked better as a cutscene - the linearity there doesn't suit the rest of the game's self-driven interaction, so there's a big drop off in perceived player engagement. Part of that is that the intro is so long, it really just kind of tires you out. The enemy engagement (especially the intro) reminds me of older beatemup games like Double Dragon - once you've played it for an hour, you're pretty much done. Doesn't make it bad, just means the pacing for the combat, etc, feels like it expects a lot of player endurance for repeating content.

On that note, I think a lot of today's games could be a lot better if they weren't trying to be 40+ hours. Take the best "big" ideas, make the game about them, don't try to bloat it up with "average" feeling enemies and empty settings that don't ask much from the player.
