My mother's nine-year struggle with cancer is coming to an end

For those of you who don't know, my mom has been fighting cancer since 2002. I haven't mentioned the latest news to most of you, but my mom's health took a serious drop in September and she's been bedridden ever since. She's been in hospice this whole time. On Monday night, things got worse again and now she's comatose. The hospice nurses visited on Tuesday and said she had a few hours at least, and probably a few days at most before it's over. Yesterday I went into her room and held her hand, talked to her a bit (though I don't know if she could even hear me), and hugged and kissed her goodbye. All the family came and visited to do the same.
I've been doing as well as I can. Try not to worry about me too much. I won't be posting as frequently as usual for a while, but I'll try to make some time to drop by and check the forum every now and then until this is all over.

I know this is a really difficult time, and you'll be in my thoughts.
I wish I could offer more than "I'm sorry," but unfortunately that's all I can.
Stay strong, brother.

Dislike... I really wish I could say something that would make you feel better, but all that comes to mind are monkeys and chocolate cake. I'm fairly certain neither would do the job.
Do what everyone else said, and stay strong. Your mom would want you to...

Val, you're a good guy. Everyone here thinks that. I hope you can deal with this all well. If there's anything I personally can do for you, let me know and I'll try and make it happen.

I'm sorry you have to deal with a loss of a parent at such a young age. I know I would be devastated if I suffered through a similar situation. It's sad it seems good people suffer so much more frequently. I wish you and your family the strength to get through this struggle over the coming years.

There were two outcomes that came to mind reading the title of this thread and I was sorry to see that it wasn't the cancer going away.
Much love and peace.

You and everyone around you have really been through the fire, in my eyes you are awesome to cope with it so well.
If you need some support, well i think you see for yourself that that the greater part of the forums have said so me included as from now.
Be strong man!

Thanks, everyone.
She passed away last night around 10:30. At the very least I'm glad her struggle's finally over. It's gonna be a tough holiday, for sure, but we'll be having Thanksgiving later today with her side of the family like we always do, because we know it's what she would've wanted.

I won't have the pleasure of knowing your mother, but she is part of what made you a kind, funny, generous man. I'm grateful to her for being there for you, so that we could have a wonderful friend. If there is anything we can do, truly, let us know.
So if I should go before thee,
break not a flower, nor engrave a stone.
Do not speak in reserved voices,
but be the good selves I have known.
For I preside in the Otherworld,
where the sun dost not rise nor set.
So if thou wilt, remember,
and if thou wilt, forget.
