Why must electronic devices be so expensive?

So, yesterday I charged up my MP3 player to listen to on the go. I step out the door, turn it on, and find that I can't listen to any music. All of the files are corrupted, and the device can't be restored. I've had it for a couple years, and now it's down for the count. If I want to listen to music on the go, I'll have to buy a new MP3 player.

Coincidentally, I've been noticing that I need to plug in my laptop more often. Now, I can barely run it without having it plugged in. The battery needs to be replaced.

The MP3 player and laptop battery together makes over a hundred bucks of hardware I need to replace. I don't have any money, or any income right now.

I thought MP3 players would always get less expensive if they kept the same storage? Like, a 2 gig MP3 player was pretty pimpin' six years ago, now it's an absolute joke.

Which makes my 16 gig iPod Touch rather ancient. :(

Ugh, man, don't get me started. Electronics have a doubled price in Australia. Why? No big reason why, they just do, mostly since consumers are willing to pay it.

^Not to mention the cost of so many light globes.

And remember, "Gleaming pants! Glorious pants!"
