If she's so innocent, why did they put duct tape over the kids mouth and hide the body? Why did they wait 31 days before reporting her "missing"? Why did they PARTY during those 31 days?

I don't care if you feel different, you have a right to your views, be them true or false. This is how I feel (be it true or false) and I just needed to vent.

Thank you for listening.

It's not about what you know, it's about what you can prove.

Well, at least Nancy Grace has subject matter for the next month.

The biggest problem was that there was too much circumstantial evidence. Though, I have to say, even with the circumstantial evidence, it seemed there was more evidence to prove Casey was the murderer than her father found the body in the pool. That's what really shocks me. The defense presented hypothesis after hypothesis, but everything they offered was far more circumstantial than the prosecution's case.

File this one between O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake.

But seriously, I just want the media circus over this tragedy to end.

You can only convict someone of being guilty if the jury can say 100% without reasonable doubt that shes guilty. If there was not enough evidence that shows that she for sure did it, then, sadly, it has to be a not guilty verdict.

Let me just say that my (rather minimal) interest in the case was purely out of curiosity; I saw the verdict as neither a disappointment nor a victory, but rather, a "so that's what it is". Unlike my family, whereas everyone wanted her to be found guilty.

However, I'm generally more apethetic towards victims of crimes (likely has something to do with age+gender), so the only disgust I felt during the case was provoked by Nancy Grace being Nancy Grace.

Thank you so much for posting this, it's nice to agree with someone for once.

Yeah, I think she should definitely be under "fire" for all that. It's like child abuse, whether you actually killed her or not.

I've seen this grown woman suffer for years. For the last few months, I got to watch it on TV. Maybe now, the people of the world can take something from the twelve men and women who realized that under all of the disgusting comments and premature judgments there was a human being who needed help. Not to be locked away until a cold demise.

In that case no one should be in jail.

American prisons are far too focused on punishment than correction. We have an obscene amount of people continuing to do crime when they get out of prison, often just so they can get back in.

Speaking of which, prison rape is an American phenomenon and dwarfs reports of it in other countries. What kind of system is that?

How the hell do you get by with this when people are sentenced for things that never actually hurt anyone?

My thoughts exactly. First thing I thought of was "Jon Benet Ramsey v2.0".

Try shoplifting. You can say you accidentally did it because of your memory loss problem. You thought you'd bought it. It'd be as plausible as this, but the legal system would still treat you like a criminal.

And a $5000 fine? You'd pay more for downloading a movie or spitting on a courthouse floor. For providing misonformation? Trials are about both sides lying and a group of people trying to sift out some truth or at least decide who to believe anyway, so why bother with that charge when the whole thing was about a dead child. The fraud charges are pointless in light of that.
