The Lovely Sun

#1

Post by msillegality » Sat Apr 30, 2011 7:30 pm

The Sun. A lovely little star, composed of gases, that gives light to our planet and keeps us alive.

The mother****er burned me today at a track meet. It lies. I fell asleep calmly, comfortable in the cool shade provided by clouds. I wake up to the Sun beating down on me, the tree I'm underneath doing nothing to shade me. I move under the tent and fall asleep on my bestfriend.

I'm awoken by him standing up, but also by the Sun. Shining on me. Add in chasing people around, fence hop/flipping, and water fights, and by the end of the day, I'm tired.

I get home and look in the mirror. It looks like I have red skin, and I'm wearing a normal skin-colored shirt. And my face. My glasses left a tan line -- I have red skin with normal skin-colored goggles.

Note to self: Bring sunscreen to a 16 hour meet to avoid evolution from Human Girl to Red Raccoon.

Ouch, sunburns are no good, but a least it wasn't so bad that the top layer of skin turned yellow and died...

That is even less fun.

I vote that you change your PDN from msillegality to Red Raccoon.

I peel badly when I get sunburnt, I always miss a spot when putting on sunscreen.

then you have a bad case of goggle burns.

don't worry you don't have to worry of the rays that bounces around on the snow up here and thin ozone!

I would if I knew how.

Val, you make it seem like Oregon never sees the sun.

We get sun during the summer.

The rest of the year is as cloudy as Kamino.

Oh, k. If I had a summer without sun, I'd die. I should be tan once this sunburn goes away, tho, so that's good.

This.

I burn really easily because I'm pale. And I really don't like hot weather... which is half the year where I live. Although what I mean by "hot" is somewhere around 80-100°F... and like 50-100% humidity without a cloud in the sky. But whatever.

Humidity can go die and I will be happy. I used to live in Florida. Virginia's weather is bipolar -- no lie. This year we literally had one day be 70 degrees, clear sky, and a beautiful day. The next was 30-40 degrees, cold, rainy, and nasty. :/

I burn ridiculously easy. Like, within 10 minutes.

In addition, I'm photosensitive, so I agree with the sentiment that the sun can go intercourse itself.

Welcome to the weather that England gets.

Last couple of days it's been too hot to wear jeans, this morning looked like it was going to be the same, so I decided on shorts, and I open the windows. By midday I've shut the windows, put the heating on, and changed back into jeans. The Temp dropped loads, and the grey clouds moved on it. Then by 6pm it turns hot, and sunny.
