I met a girl online about three weeks ago and it seemed perfect:

• We had similar interests
• We lived close-by
• We are both a bit shy

We talked on Skype for a bit before going on a movie date last week and it went quite good.

I made another movie date with her for tomorrow before I left for a weekend at the cottage.

I came home this evening and she comes online and says she no longer wants to pursue a relationship with me because I am not outgoing enough and not more established in life (i.e. unemployed).

My love life sucks.

Forget her. You didn't do nothing wrong.
It's hard to get jobs right now, especially for people with little experience (i.e., folks our age), & if she's punishing you for that, then she's not worth it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

She was honest with you. That's a good thing. I'm sorry to hear it didn't go anywhere and you feel bad about it, but it will be alright anyway. Take care of yourself and get back on the horse, so to speak.

She never really gave me much of a chance to see that I begin to open up more the longer I know someone. I also don't think it's fair to judge me by my employment/living status (I still live with my parents). I had a tough few years that saw me going back to school in my mid-twenties and I only graduated last June.

We were supposed to have our second date this afternoon and I was looking forward to it all weekend when I was at the cottage. That's why it really struck me aback when I come home and the first thing she says to me is that she didn't want to pursue a relationship.

When I first started talking to her, we were so similar and lived close-by that I thought it was too good to be true. It was.
