Yep. I'm sure everyone who has a little sibling has had something of theirs broken. Just yesterday they managed to mess up the L and R buttons on my DSi, and this morning I woke up to find out that my sisters put my fish in the garbage disposal and turned it on. It gets really annoying real fast. :mad:

On a side note, fake doors suck too. My apartment's leasing office has one, and I always end up looking stupid when I try to open it, because there's no way to tell it apart from the real door. What's the point? Why not just put a window there, or maybe a real door! That just gets on my nerves!

The hardest lessons of life are when you lend your video games to a younger sibling or relative and are given it back with the files deleted, the data corrupted, the case missing, the cartridge cracked, the CD scratched, or never.

Punishing them does wonders.

Especially dragging them by the collar showing them their ill deed and going "NO. BAD BABY."

Yeah, my little brothers have always been in the habit of ruining the **** out of my stuff for as long as I can remember. Often **** that was collectible or irreplaceable. Lots of save files and video games and video game peripherals and posters and all kinds of other easily noticeable things have been destroyed by my youngest brother, who tends to forget that I do happen to check on that **** and he can't hide it forever (read: hide it for about an hour and then pretend he didn't do it).

Though, when you've had siblings as long as I have, you get kind of numb to it and just accept the casualties of youth.

And especially when the siblings are given a free pass on it all because "They didn't know any better", whereas had they done any of that stuff to their parents' belongings, they'd be scrubbing toilets at sweatshop wages to pay it off or have belt marks on their ass.

I'm the youngest sibling and I know how annoying this was - because out here, it was actually subverted. Whenever my older sister broke my stuff, she never got in trouble for it, never got any lectures on how to be careful with my stuff, and, most importantly, never had to replace or find anything she wrecked that I owned.

Whereas the blame for everything else being broken or lost was somehow inevitably linked to me, whether I had any actual invovlement or not. Hell, even if I was in the HOUSE or not at the time it happened...I was somehow responsible. (There was one time they called me up AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE because dad knocked a VCR on the floor and broke it, and that it was somehow my fault. :| Oh, yeah, I totally used my telekinetic powers to make dad knock down the VCR that I hadn't touched in at least four months just for the hell of it. HOW DID YOU KNOW?)

My younger sister, once upon a time, may have had a curious nature towards my stuff.

This was destroyed when I made it clear whoever touched my stuff would die a horrible death.

As a result, my Sega Genesis remains in perfectly good condition. :)

My niece have a habbit doing some collateral damage, lucky me that she isn't visiting my apartment to often so most stuff isn't her fault, thats my little brothers work and about that i fully understand what slim jim means.

No offense dude, but it sounds like you've had a rough time. Family acting weird is never easy to deal with, and them blaming you for something irrationally is the worst.




Putting a fish down the disposal isn't excusable. If they're old enough to know how to turn the thing on, they're old enough to know better.

Why would they even do the fish disposal thing? Were they trying to be cute?

Once, my little cousin spilled my drink while trying to play with it, and I got in trouble because I left the cup in his reach.

I left it in the middle of a huge table that was two feet off the ground. Usually, that's a good way to keep things away from 1-year-olds. And he couldn't climb up there own his own, thus, someone older must've helped him up there. And it couldn't have been me, because I was at a friend's house.

They just want someone to blame that isn't "cute".

...But, I'm ranting again. Yeah, the whole thing sucks.

Okay, that whole fish story bugs me. Like, it makes me want to a punch a wall.

It's what I call, "Male Sibling syndrome". Whenever something is wrong, the oldest sibling is the one who is either in trouble for starting it, not breaking it up, or not telling the adults what was going on.

If the oldest sibling is female, then it's the oldest MALE Sibling who gets in trouble.


But then again though, I'm also lucky that I've never had anything like the garbage disposal. That honestly beats everything my sister did to me. (Even the time she hit me in the head with a ****ing platform shoe.)
