People who act tough in threads, then cry like babies when I question their beliefs.

TITLE DOES NOT REFER TO BOO, I WILL PUNCH PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THAT
Think of this as an extension of Codiekitty's 'My Opinion ruined everybody's christmas." (If I may do so, I would call it "Oops, my opinion accidentally set someone on fire again.")
There will be a debate thread in the other forum, right? Some people will be acting tough or making big assertions of their beliefs. Then I'll take exception of one or more of them, then provide my rebuttal. Oftentimes, these people will have made 'big, tough' assertions at that. So I think they can take a bit of a punch to the gut, right? So I just say my mind there.
Then, contrary to my expectations, they just... implode. You name it. Some of them run off crying, other ones go insane instead of responding and stop bothering to debate, and others who haven't read the thread pop in, randomly insult me, then run away, as apparently they're too afraid to face my opinion.
I just don't get it. Why do these people write these checks with their big tough arguments if they can't take it when I respond with my own? Half the time I'm not even using full volume and it just socks them right in the gut, causing them to react with trolling or madness. It's just ridiculous. They go and assert how tough their opinion is, then I go to test that, and they just start falling to pieces.
The worst part is that it usually happens when it's just an opinion--I mean, there have been some heated battles with Metal Mario over something, and he could take the same sort of stuff he dishes out. I may consider some of his opinions completely insane, but hey--at least he can take the counter-blows, even if he tends to skew towards not-always-allowed nastygram-style responses.
What is it with these other people? Why do they advertise themselves as having this big, tough opinion if they can't take a standard "I disagree, for reasons X, Y, and Z?" And when I make a mistake, why can't they just clearly call me out on it, instead of making a bunch of cryptic taunts? What is it, really?
Because the ridiculous part is I don't even use half my nastiness that I used to, yet at times, people react like I just began flailing around the combined evil of Godwin comparisons and wild character assassination attacks.
And while we're at it, Loot, do you have the guts to actually say why you called me a dick, or are you too afraid of my nonexistent toughness? Because I don't actually intend to come off as some overbearing troll warlord out to drive people insane by smashing everyone's buttons, as much as some of my statements might have led you to believe.
It's just absurd, is all. Back when I actually was out to drive people nuts, it took people several years to bother reacting, but when I attempt to dial down the volume these days, it seems to be like setting people on fire. I don't get why people venture their opinions out on a public internet forum if they're that vulnerable--I mean, god forbid Metal Mario had some of my opinions and started attacking people. It'd be a horrible massacre.
And if someone decides to use this thread to do what I just described, I may just choose to stop caring and point and laugh at said people.
