"No, I don't want a ****ing $20 players' guide to go with the game. If I wanted a guide, I would have asked for one. And who the **** needs a guide since Al Gore invented the Internet and Gamefaqs anyway? **** you."

"No, I don't want to put your stupid-ass $3 warranty on my game. I'll just keep the regular receipt, and if it turns out you've sold me a buggy piece of ****, you'll damn well take it back, refund my money, and I'll buy another copy."

"No, I don't want to pre-order any other games. If I did, I would have said so. And no, I don't want to pre-order a game that doesn't even have a release date yet. Just because Nintendo showed us five minutes of rough footage at last year's E3, that doesn't mean it's 'coming soon'. I'm not going to put down ten bucks on a game that doesn't even ****ing exist yet."

"Now, are you going to let me get out of here without asking anymore of your stupid-ass questions, or am I going to have to whip out my junk and dangle it in your face?"

Makes me glad to be a (kind of) regular at the gameshop here, no questions that are stupid or feels forced and if there aren't to many people a quick chat with the personel about release dates and such!

Being a bit touchy on this arn't we Metal Mario? The guy's just doing his job, also be gratefull you HAVE a Gamestop, EB Games, or what have you in your area. I'd have to go to either Cheyanne or Capser to get to the closet of those type of stores.

- You stupid dog.

I just can't stand people who work on commission (I assume the Gamestop people do). You can't trust them because you know they're trying to squeeze every last dime out of you. If they recommend something, it's because they crave that percentage of your money that they'll personally get to keep.

Actually, clerks tend to lose their job if their sales numbers aren't up to snuff. At least that's how it was when my brother-in-law worked at Gamecrazy.

Don't see the problem. I prefer to deal with a clerk who tries to upsell me than with one who clearly doesn't give a sh*t. The former tend to be more dynamic and pleasant---they lend a touch of colour and humanity to what would otherwise be a sterile monetary transaction. They also tend to screw up a lot less often than the latter.

If you don't like dealing with clerks, you could always just order online.

There are two gamestops in town. One of which is actually full of good people who are nice and try to inform you of games, and it's well ventilated. The other meanwhile...

-To this one person who works there: SHOWER. Take a BATH. It is not that hard. Or you can just use some deodorant. You not only smell like some extreme BO but like you just rubbed yourself with Cigarette Ashes. It smells terrible, I can smell it from the knife store next door and the shoe store right next to you has this cheap air-freshener-and-leather scent that's really strong BECAUSE of that bloody odor.

-Please don't hold the line up to talk with your friends about LAN paties and that kinda stuff...I'm waiting to pay.

-This is more at their policies, rather than the clerks who don't have any control over this: Don't buy a used game from me for only $3, then sell it used for $15. And don't buy another used game from me in near mint condition and then mark it as NEW!!! wtf?! None of that money goes to the publishers or developers!

-Don't insult my intelligence because I'm not buying a PC game from you. When you guys actually have a halfway decent PC selection, maybe I'll get a PC game from you. Since 2006, you've carried nothing but expansion packs (without the original...), cheap $15 shovelware you can get at places like Target or Wal-Fart (or even best buy), trial CDs, or stuff like battlechests that are good games, but are so damn common almost everybody has them already and they're like $15-20 anyways. If you continue to do that, then I will go get my games from Amazon.

-Saying stuff like "wtf? Tales of Vesperia? Grow a dick and get Gears of War" or "Sonic Chronicles? What are you? 12?" is a pretty good way to lose customers.

-I do not care that I can get this game over Xbox Live or Steam. Would you prefer that I actually give you business and you actually get to keep some money from it or that you get nothing because I downloaded it?

Yeah. I hate it when people are paid to do a service for me, too. Particularly when they're following company policy for offering further goods and services to me. I hate that a lot. I wish they wouldn't do their jobs right. Then they'd get fired, and they would never do it to me again.

I also wish I was unemployed and didn't have to participate in reality, but not nearly as much as I wish all of those store clerks would be fired for their service to me.

This must only work with certain ones, because I don't have these problems at Gamestop.

Actually, the clerk at my town's GameStop is badass. I think his name's Derek or something.

He also works at the Penn Station next door, which adds on to his badassery.

It's not that bothersome. Just say "No Thanks"

I rarely ever buy anything from Gamestop. I buy all my PC games off of Steam and 90% of my PS3/DS/Wii games from GameFly, if I buy them at all. The other 10% of those games usually comes from BestBuy, which is closer and sends me lots of 10%+ off coupons.

You mean America is the only country with annoying sales clerks who try to push you into spending money you don't have on things you don't want?

Fancy that.
