There's this girl that absolutely adores me. I mean, she honestly loves me. However, I don't share those feelings. I like her, just... not that way. How am I supposed to tell her without breaking her heart?

You can't. I've sat for quite a long time consulting the reasonable+romantic+logical part of my brain, and it doesn't work. There is nothing you can say or do. Or there is, but I haven't thought of it.

I think the best way to go about it is to just leave it alone. Maybe some really good looking guy will come along, or she'll just give up. That's the best thing I could think of.

Well, you could just skirt the issue all of the time. Eventually one of you will move away, either literally or figuratively.

Just tell her "thank you for trusting me that you could share that with me. I really like you and want to be your friend but in all honesty, that's all I can offer back." In your own words, of course.

It hurts to say it, it hurts to hear it but if you are sincere and you really try to be friends afterwards, you will be.
