Getting my s*** together feels nice
I have started:
-habitually waking up an hour before I need to leave for work, instead of like 20 minutes, and waking up then even on days off
-actually keeping my heckin room clean
-updating a digital planner with daily and master tasks I need to do (mostly for cosplay let's be real, but hopefully music too after Anime LA) and using the notes section like a diary to vent and reflect on my goals
-tracking my spending habits to make sure I'm being responsible and know where my money is going
........BRUH I DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE MYSELF ANYMORE YOU GUYS. I've been a disorganized yolo slob my entire life, and absolutely no shade at disorganized yolo slobs because I kinda liked that lifestyle. But it really feels nice to know what I'm doing, to be aware of my goals and habits, and to be able to track my progress on stuff and make sure I'm doing what I want to be doing? It feels really good! Heck even just having extra time in the mornings to post on Viggif and write about my Feelings in my planner (lol am i usin it rite) before work puts me in an infinitely better mood.
I know myself and I know that usually if I try to keep myself organized in any specific capacity it falls apart in about 3 seconds, but I'm hoping that if I keep this kind of regular daily thing going, especially with how much better I feel about literally every aspect of my life, I can actually maintain it. Fingers crossed lmao.
Also, somewhat related, I bought dinosaur bedsheets. Living my best life. Truly I have become an Adult

Nice work, AJ. Being able to manage your own life like that feels really good.
Since I moved into my own place last year, I've been keeping it clean, working on my comic regularly, budgeting every week, and even have an exercise routine. Being a responsible grown up is fun.

The first thing you should always do is make your bed. I've realized over time that such a small act will get you in the mood to do anything else.

Those are great accomplishments, friend! I want to do better this year too ;__; hopefully I can start planning something out and carry it out daily
I agree w/ Scott, making your bed is the best first step to anyone else reading.

Hey, that's good! I've been trying to get into better habits too, even keeping a Notepad document of tasks makes them feel easier to complete. Good on ya, in any case!

I'm just curious, how's this coming along four weeks after the original post?

Re: Getting my s*** together feels nice
Awesome. I'm still waking up early on the regular, room is clean and I'm working on reorganizing it, I have time allocated for certain priorities so I'm consistently making progress on those priorities, I'm keeping track of my spending, and I actually feel sort of on top of my **** for essentially the first time in my life
I am glad I finally got my **** together!

Happy to hear you're getting your s*** together!
I'm attempting to get mine together after finishing 2017 with a particularly bad spiral and I'm having trouble really getting started but I'm trying to stay positive.

Re: Getting my s*** together feels nice
Trying to maintain an actual five-day work week is stressful but I think it'll be better in the long run once I've settled into it.
Relatedly, I have no idea when I'll actually be able to do yoga. Or when to make Squeege exercise with me. ugggh

Re: Getting my s*** together feels nice
i know that feel. especially when it feels like literally everything is not together and the prospect of scraping all of it up feels overwhelming. or at least that was my experience.Calamity Panfan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 6:07 amHappy to hear you're getting your s*** together!

i think i just lucked out with the timing of stuff and i hit a point where it made sense to 'reset' pretty much everything at once, but I know that's not easy to do and not always really an option. waking up earlier on the regular was probably the biggest step for me, but we're all different and we all have different **** that works. best of luck my dude <3

Re: Getting my s*** together feels nice
IT careers are no joke. Get paid good money if you fall in line with the right company. If you want to get your act together there's one easy thing you can do to jump start your body and mind.
Drink a gallon + of water every day. It leads to a more restful and productive sleep which spills out into your daily life. Plus some cold water is enough to wake you up when you feel tired in the morning and it's better for you than coffee without the crash. If cars need gasoline to run, people need water in the same way.
One step at a time.
