I am so glad I only have about three semesters left. Because you guys are starting to do all sorts of dumb ****.
I love how the campus is a neverending construction project. Every year, there's something shut down because of construction.
First we got that shiny new behavioral sciences building. (Trivia: You've actually seen it if you played The Last of Us. ;) Remember that college campus they were in in Colorado?) That knocked out a parking lot that basically resulted in the other parking lots becoming flooded. Bonus points because that was a "Z" lot and half "A", which is the students and faculty respectively. Cue the faculty parking in the student lots and completely ignoring the dozens of other parking spots.. (If you guys really think the "Z" spots are better, I'll happily trade you permits.)
Then they decide to give us a parking garage because people kept complaining. So where does it go? Why... knock out some of the student housing and send who-knows-how-many students (and families!) out! Then shut down THAT road and force the traffic to be bottlenecked. OF COURSE! Gotta love how urban sprawl is.
Then when we finally GET the parking garage, guess what... half of the parking lots you can't use. Who thought that'd be a great idea to only let the students park on roughly 20% of the parking garage? They wanted to give the faculty a parking lot... except guess what? Day by day students complain about the parking garage getting full, yet driving by consistently empty parking spaces that are reserved for faculty. Why aren't they using this parking lot?
BECAUSE IT'S TOO FAR FROM WHERE THEY WORK!!!
Instead they go flood the "Z" lots because it's a 5 minute walk to where they work as opposed to a fifteen-twenty minute walk. (Bonus idiocy points for putting handicap spots on the roof and repacing them with "Pay to park")
I'm not done yet. Then we get a new rec centre expansion... as if the rec centre wasn't enough, now we have ot make it the biggest building on campus?
Then they decide to shut down ANOTHER parking lot because now we can get a train station. Sounds nice... until you realize that now you have even more students who can't park and they're bum rushing other lots. (Seriously if you have an "A" permit... PARK IN THE BLOODY "A" LOTS. You guys pay a lot more for access to better parking spots, and CSU makes oyu pay for it.
On I'm not done yet. Now let's redo the student centre... and drive hundreds of people out of work. -_-; Good going. Great going.
So what are we supposed to do? Why... we could always apply for work study. But guess what?
Unless you are an international student or low-income, they won'et let you apply! :@ There is Merit-based work-study except they're never freaking accepting any awards available. Meanwhile people constantly ask for interns that require work-study, yet wonder why they can't get anyone, and saying "But Work-study is available!!11" Maybe it's because YOU NEVER ****ING GIVE MERIT-WORK STUDY!!! Why don't you try GIVING SOME OF THOSE WORK-STUDY AWARDS OUT. I could try and say I "need" a work-study, but even those have the same kinds of politics that most scholarships and internships have. (That a lot of them are given to people who make the scholarship granters look better and athletes.)
BUT NO. They would much rather engage in construction, drive our fees up the roof, then act surprised when we're reported as having high tuition and fees increases.
Now let's be a little fair: Part of the reason they do this is that many idiots in colorado's government say students dont' work to get through college and that they should be paying to go, so as a result, they cut higher education funding down to nothing. In a few years, it's going to be more expensive to attend CSU than it would to attend freaking HARVARD. The only people from outside of Colorado attending CSU have a full ride scholarship of some kind because you will become a triple amputee as an out-of-state attendee.
I want to move to some place like Denmark. -_-; Don't expect any donations from me, CSU... or my sister, or my mom... and don't expect me to send any children I adopt to be attending CSU.

[quote="The 2nd Theory of Idiocy]School administrators are idiots.[/quote"] My brother was late to his first day of his campus job this semester; he was supposed to be there at 7am, but they didn't put the dang schedule up until after 12 the night before, so he literally had less than 7 hours' notice, during most of which he was asleep. Everybody else was late that day, too.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
