I have dreadful social anxiety and work in food service, too. The first day of my job I was quaking with nervousness. And there have been plenty of ******* customers since that time. But I don't let them get to me. These people don't know you or me, their words or actions are just emotional outbursts. I've had a really hard time with anxiety and depression, too, but the best thing I ever learned to do was to stop worrying what people think. Especially strangers. Especially when you have to deal with them every day at work. Dealing with some customers may be unpleasant, but you just have to let the words roll off you. They don't mean anything.

Have you tried lentils? I ask for three reasons---a) they're really good for you, loaded with fiber and protein and such, b) they're really easy to prepare---just boil them for a half-hour-odd, no soaking required (unlike most beans), and c) super cheap. I work at a warehouse grocery store, and we sell one-pound bags of dried lentils for about a buck apiece. Can really help stretch out the old food budget.
Just a thought.
