My mom...
OK, I'm worried my mom is smothering me. She's having me do online courses at the local CC, since I can't drive to a university, and we haven't had an appointment with the people in charge of transportation. What do I do?

Do you feel smothered?
If yes: talk to your mother about what responsibilities you will take over.
(ie. You will be the person to call about transportation and organise it all yourself.)
If no: then you're fine, put the idea behind you and embrace the comfort of your family helping you.
Keep in mind, if you do feel you have no control and just break away completely, you will be expected to take charge of everything yourself. If you like that she's doing things to help, but want more say in how and when, you have to talk to her about it and take on some of those duties.

Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

Also, if you aren't already on the bus line, I don't really see what you could do... of course, I live in a place with horrendous public transportation so yeah.
