Many thumb pads work via electric signals sent through a compressed membrane. That's another one for pressure, not friction.

That's the physical definition of friction, what causes the drag. Hence why there's no way to just take it out of reality, it's caused by an important factor in the existence of matter. But we aren't playing by those rules.
