(senses no will to see this "film" after having had seen this video and certain other videos similar to this one; prefers "Bowser", "Mario", "Toad", and "Luigi" voices in certain animated series of cartoons named "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show", "Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3", and "Super Mario World")
That is not fair. The original "Jump Man design he had was acceptable but he literally was deemed a villain starting with the same game. Funny because of his typical bad-guy with a mustache and not wearing a tall hat. I mean beyond that was so acceptable there was even an actual Saturday Morning Cartoon. Look up the "Saturday Morning Bumpers"I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 10:54 pmMario's design is a bit off, granted, but it's not the worst. Look back at the original design he had before
By the standards of the time the Jumpman design was okay I guess, but each redesign was a drastic improvement, I don't think the series would have stayed as popular as it was if they didn't change it. Same for Donkey Kong himself, I'd say.Gametrek wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 4:51 pmThat is not fair. The "design" was not cemented in SMB. It was gradually changed and accepted via the manga/comics and actual employees within Nintendo. Mario is called Mario due to employees in the US calling him Mario.
SMB did not have the "design" until the second game came around, and the "Final" design did not stick in game until "Super Mario World" which attempted to mimic the art-style featured on the covers, and repeated in the "SML2:Six Golden Coins".
Donkey Kong ( The original Arcade ) had an actual animation/cartoon on air far before Super Mario Brothers came along and far before the "Super Mario Bros:Super Show". Even Koopa had a live-action series playing himself and was very believable.
Chris Pratt is a "Community" college drop-out, who worked as a stripper while weighting tables for the director/actress who "discovered" and cast him. He is a stereotypical-red-neck, red blooded American White-White Whashed actor. He a ginger with muscles and paraded around as American stereotype. I heard and saw the intro. Might as well make Mario shave his beard.
Mario design is so terrible. Trust me. It is like "Sonic" design, the eyes are tiny and small, and do not look anything like Sonic at all. Same with Mario. His head looks big and his eyes are tiny. WTFIT????
If anybody should play Mario voice it should be Captain Louie sound-a-like. This is just a grab-bag like "Wreck-It-Ralph", and is stupid. It is a movie made to suck money from people taking advantage of their naive-ness. Look at @$#@$@$ USSR it is messed up since religion took it over and the crown was over-taken. Look at Afganistan and Iraq.....no logical sense at all...money and time wasted. Peoples lives lost.
Their is no Pratt Mario. Do not purchase the movie, just wait until you could "get it". No sense in paying for this bs.
..............
All of that 3d could be instantaneously used in game. It is a waste of resources. In fact some videogames that are movies or movies that are videogames actually uses the same resources. So maybe just maybe we could get an actual game out of this because this is what this crap movie is.
A marketing for the game not released yet.
Are you flipping kidding me??? The film graphics is just as good as a videogame, if not more or less the same. You have to be blind to even say that one. Movies have been doing this "oh look forget that 3d from PSX/Saturn box-arts or the flying Owl from "Labyrinth", whatever we make now is cannon for 3d.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 5:10 pm

You're right. I forgot that even after SMB there were some adjustments, but it really hasn't strayed too far from that point. Every change after Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. was minor in comparison. To put it another way, SMB's iteration of Mario has more in common with the film's depiction of Mario design-wise than MB's design did with SMB's.
I didn't know Donkey Kong had a show before Mario, that's interesting. I knew about the Donkey Kong Country one, and liked it as a kid, even now it's pretty funny at least for the memes.
I don't think Pratt's history factors into his acting ability much, actors come from all kinds of backgrounds. That sounds a bit off though, Pratt is a Christian, I don't think he'd be involved in stripping. The media hates him, I'm sure they'd be bringing that up at any opportunity if it was true. It's probably just some rumor.
The Sonic design was horrific. It was way, way worse. Even the final design for Sonic in the movie is further removed from the real Sonic's design than this Mario film's design is from the standard Mario look. I think Sonic's final design was tolerable but it still isn't accurate enough for my liking, whereas Mario is close enough (definitely a bit uncanny but I expected much worse).
Well, if they really want to lean into an accent then they could get Joe Pesci, he's already got a sort of higher voice too just like Mario is known for. He's an actual Italian so that'd placate the people complaining about race in the casting (which is ridiculous, it's just a cartoon). A Lou Albano soundalike might not have the range necessary for a feature film.
The film's graphics seem way too good to be used in a Switch game, I don't think they'd scale down well enough to be of use and probably weren't designed with that in mind. I do think they are using this to hype an upcoming game though, it would only make sense. It's been a while since Mario Odyssey released, so it's about time for another 3D Mario game of some kind.
I don't think Kirby has changed in any significant way. Technically, he wasn't pink originally (which is why he has a monochrome color variant in Super Smash Bros), but otherwise I think he's basically the same as he's ever been. The character's appearance was redesigned for the Super NES in 1994 by former Rare character artist Kevin Bayliss with supervision from Miyamoto, who suggested giving Donkey Kong a red tie.
