Which of the Indiana Jones films did you see?
Rank them in order... best to worst...
Who are your favourite characters?
Who do you hope to see in the upcoming film?
What are your favourite quotes?

And a trivia question... Why does Indy hate snakes?

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

I used to love them as a kid, especially Temple of Doom. They're just okay now, and pretty overrated imo. I haven't seen Crystal Skulls and probably won't see it nor the new one.

Hm, I don't remember why Indie hates snakes.

I've seen all 4 of them. Crystal Skull isn't as bad as people say, but it is still the worst one. Temple of Doom isn't as good as people say. Raiders & Last Crusade are both great.
Marion is the best. Billie is the worst. Short Round is underrated.
I'm very apprehensive about the 5th movie even happening. Harrison Ford broke a hip on Force Awakens, a movie where the most strenuous thing his character did was run.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I like all three of them loads. 'Raiders' is the best, 'Crusade' is the favourite, 'Doom' is the Indiana Jonesest. You shouldn't skip 'Doom' just because it's silly. (EDIT: Haha, oh wow. I only just now realised I referred to them as three movies. Like, through however long it took me to write the post, I forgot 'Crystal Skull' existed. Should I be embarrassed, or should Steven Spielberg?)

Anyone who hates Short Round is no son of mine. Short Round is a great sidekick. You want a crappy child sidekick, you need to go watch 'Terminator 2', or maybe go dig up some Batman back-issues. Read 'Death in the Family'--------like, if you think Robin is annoying in 'Batman and Robin', find the version of Robin that readers hated so much that they voted to have DC kill him off.

[EDIT2: You know, I don't care who you are-‐‐---‐--that little moment when Indy and Shorty give each other their hats back is really nice.

So. I mean, I'm not some friggin baby, here, but I'm rewatching the Indy flicks, and I'll be flipped if the Nazis melting at the end of 'Raiders' isn't the most horrifying thing you ever saw. Jeepers creepers, man.

...that whole sequence makes me uneasy. It looks like the Wrath, man. It's scary! It's spooky, like the way even 'The Ten Commandments' isn't.

I got to see 'Temple of Doom' on the big screen today (the Times is doing Spielberg September----------I missed 'Raiders' last weekend, but 'Close Encounters' and 'Last Crusade' are coming up) (as is 'ET'---------you know, even though I don't care about 'ET', I can see going to it, just for the sake of patronage. The Times doesn't have to show old movies, right).

I don't remember whether I've ever seen 'Temple of Doom' in theatre before. It's a good time. There's just something about the big screen that ramps up the intensity, man-----------that ending action sequence doesn't let up.

[EDIT: They played some guy's short Indiana Jones fan-movie before the feature. It was a fun little extra, you know? It'd be cool to see that kind of thing before movies more often. (There probably aren't many 'Close Encounters' or 'ET' fan-flicks...)

You forgot about "Young Indiana Jones" series. That being said even Harrison Ford forgot about Indiana Jones. I think the Crystal Skull was the nail in the coffin and I prefer all the "Romancing the Stones" Romantic horror treasure hunter adventure series.

Indiana Jones was okay for the born-again-Christian group. Like my dad loved the living-day-lights out of the series. We would watch that together and all.

However to know the History behind the propaganda Indie presented us is to know how disruptive
to creativity the entire series was.

1. Indiana Jones gave us the Rated-PG rating. Basically an Rated-R movie meant for parents to inform children while being perfectly safe asides the lame Rated-G by Disney. You wanted perfection you have to see "Total Recall" 198X, you wanted perfection with a Baby on Board you go down Indie street.
2. Too many videogames used the font for their works, Yes great idea of the time but many it is over-played. It basically was a "let the show go on, with a hint of action". "Howard the Duck" partly used it as well.
3. "Call of the Beast" the video series literally dressed up the main character as Indiana Jones. That is why the game failed.
4. It also affected the way Pitfall character looked a lot Like Indie. Especially the 16-bit sequel.
5. Godzilla 1985 ... that one scene that is straight out of Indiana Jones.
6. Megaman Legends..kinda ripped-off the boulder scene as well. However we could even point to "Cream-Lemon" and a couple of other series.
7. Bomberman dressed up as Indie via his western GB games.

Indiana Jones was a mistake. It is like how Tiny-Toons was a mistake but at least we got Animaniacs ( the original not the reboot ).

"Terminator 2" was not about him being the side-kick he was the main character. The Terminator was his bodyguard and the closest thing he had to a father. Short Round was literally me and you from that generation of children. I mean literally he was the father and son mentality. Yes he was a great side-kick in a world where men kept their pants zipped up.

I will admit funny ha ha now that I am old enough to actually understand the dialog. But honestly we watched those movies for the action sequences. Seeing Indie and SR have a father and son moment while some random girl is running around screaming like a comedic figure was for the parents to laugh at... silly lady.

What actress?

Also remember without Terminator 2 we would never have this.

Pitfall began development in 1989, before Indiana Jones, so I doubt it was inspired by that. Here's how the concept came about according to the creator:
I sat down with a blank sheet of paper and drew a stick figure in the center. I said, "Okay, I have a little running man and let's put him on a path [two more lines drawn on the paper]. Where is the path? Let's put it in a jungle [draw some trees]. Why is he running [draw treasures to collect, enemies to avoid, etc.]?" And Pitfall! was born. This entire process took about ten minutes. About 1,000 hours of programming later, the game was complete.
I remember Bomberman parodying Indiana Jones, but not Mega Man Legends ripping off the boulder scene, although maybe because I never completed it. Do you have a clip of that?

What's wrong with Tiny Toons Adventures? I liked it a lot as a kid, it wasn't as good as Anamaniacs but still funny. Tiny Toons had better video games at least, Anamaniacs had a horrible SNES game I instantly regretted renting back in the day.

That's not even kinda true. The PG rating started in 1969. The PG-13 rating started in 1984, and Temple of Doom (the 2nd Indiana Jones film) was only one of several films that led to it; Gremlins was another major player in that process as well.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Indiana Jones is what PG-13 on the map. In fact I truly hate how the amount of morons keep using the "indie" with the font-type when they talk about B-game or B-movie productions. It is immature and dumb. That is what happen to the entire Indiana Jones mofit. They took something fun, happy, and witty and turned into a mockery of itself.
