Christmas is almost here, and that means Christmas music being played ad naseum.

What are the best/worst Christmas songs, in your opinion?

Colbie Caillat's song 'Christmas in the Sand' makes me want to puke coat-hangers. It's so twee and garbagey. Like a big bowl of sugar-flavoured snot. I hate it.

And huck Madonna's version of 'Santa Baby' onto the trashpile, as well. The song is lame and gross to start with--------it didn't need Madonna doing her best 'Harley Quinn with a blood clot' impression.

Baby It's Cold Outside just because I'm sick of the discourse. I've never been a fan of Jingle Bell Rock either.

'Jingle Bell Rock' is so weak and kitschy. It has 'rock' right in the title, and yet it's somehow less rockin then just regular 'Jingle Bells'. And like let's not even compare it to 'Run, Run Rudolph!' That thing is TNT.

Do They Know It's Christmas is one of my least favorite.

I really like Night of Silence, which I only learned about last year.

Has nobody suggested "The Christmas Shoes" as the worst Christmas song ever?

Cause it's the absolute worst.

I don't feel strongly about any, but since "Baby It's Cold Outside" triggered people last year, now I like it.

Of course it sucks, it's old and crappy.

I had to look up "Santa Buddy," that's a pretty dumb idea.

michael buble asks santa his "buddy" to "hurry down" his "chimney" but it's definitely not gay

I love the intense "No Homo" energy of it.

Everyone always points to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra version of Carol of the Bells but I kinda like Gary Hoey's rendition.

Spoiler.

I'm also a fan of You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (less for the actual song and more cause I just like the character).

Night of Silence owns. My high school did it every other year for our Christmas Concert. It was always a highlight.

I love the tune, and the imagery is so evocative.

'Winter Was Warm' is so sad and pretty. Good old "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol". I like it.

Eartha's "Santa Baby" was good, because she was pushing the sarcasm; you could hear irony oozing from her voice. The vast majority of covers--especially the famous ones like Marilyn, Madonna, or T-Swift--play it too straight. Lindsey Stirling knows she can't sing like Eartha Kitt, but she still got the joke, so she buried her version in vocal filters to play up the artiface of materialism (& the whole video is a massive nose-thumbing).

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I have yet to hear a good version of "Santa Baby." There are also quite a few hymns I dislike by virtue of having had to play them ad nauseum for high school band concerts ("Joy to the World," "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," I'm looking at you. >_>)

Hecking love "Carol of the Bells," "Sleigh Ride," "The First Noel," and also "Let It Snow" if only because of this absolute gem:
Spoiler.
