- an adaptation of the How to Train Your Dragon Book series. I love the movie series, but it is completely different in almost every conceivable way and I absolutely adore the book series. I think it would do well in 40min-1hr OVA format; not blockbusters or anything.

- an animated adaptation of Harry Potter. This would avoid all problems like “this kid had bushy hair and grew out of it”, “this scrawny kid got buff,” “this kid looks 25 now and should be 18,” etc. it would also give us a chance to see a werewolf that doesn’t look like budget Gollum.

- Sonic 06 and Sonic Forces TV shows

- ANIME ADAPTATION OF POKEMON ADVENTURES!!! Now is the perfect time, with Go and Let’s Go everyone’s **** their pants over Kanto again so it’s the ideal time to start back from the beginning and animate the series. It is the ONLY good adaptation of the entire game series and it deserves an anime and I WANT IT

There were rumours of a live-action 'Last Unicorn' flick for ages and ages, with Christopher Lee set to reprise his role as Haggard. I feel the project is doomed never to happen now that Lee has died (never mind his famous statement to Peter S. Beagle----------"if, by the time you come to make your live-action version of your movie, I have passed on, do not let it concern you. I have risen from the dead several times. I know how it’s done.” I'll believe it when I see it). In any event, the need for a live-action 'Last Unicorn' is rather obviated by the existence of the original. And I'm not sure I want to see anyone other than Tammy Grimes play Molly Grue anyway.

David Bowie's album 'Diamond Dogs' is pretty much the salvage of a musical version of '1984' that Bowie wanted to make. The project fell apart, but Bowie held onto the songs (and it's good he did, because the songs are rad as hell) ("1984" in particular stands out-----------awesome funk jam). 'Diamond Dogs is easily my favourite Bowie album, and that's no mean feat. Still, one wonders what might have been.

Believe I've articulated my stance on a version of Smash that includes tne Sony roster. Never gonna happen, but boy do I want it.

- Mega Man animated series thats actually faithful to the story and aesthetics of the games (bonus points if its X series)

- Star Fox tv show PLEASE

- in the other direction what about some decent licensed games again? i always thought the idea of taking a show you already like and putting it in video game form where you can play as your favorite characters and explore that world was really cool but i feel like that concept is now near-exclusively mobile games that exist primarily as reskins of puzzle games and thats not as fun

^The mobile market has basically killed the hope of your last point, at least on a broad scale. It’s an easy cash grab that licensers see as the path of least resistance. But there are still some good licensed games out there—Spider-Man just came out last year and seems pretty great.

I would love an animated Harry Potter Series, and I think it is totally within the realm of possibility. Could definitely see it happening in the next 3-5 years.

I second DZ’s point about a faithful Mega Man cartoon.

I think a Metroid movie has a lot of potential, but I don’t want it to happen because I absolutely know they would mess it up.

Oh I totally forgot but bless you DZ, I want a Mega Man X series so bad. On the stipulation that Zero’s hair is animated as luxuriously as it deserves.

The Mother trilogy as a trio of miniseries.

And Then There Were None, but with the book's ending instead of the play's ending.

They should make a Redwall video game. Like if you just took the GameCube LotR games and made everything based in the Redwall universe instead. Heck yeah.

...I mean, I haven't played it but this came up instantly when I googled Redwall (I couldn't remember how to spell 'Eulalia').

I hope it's good. I sure wouldn't mind a rad console game about Matthias and Warbeak and all. Mattimeo. Maybe some flashbacks with Martin the Warrior, right. That'd be cool.

An animated Scott Pilgrim miniseries that sticks to the comics. I's not bad at all that the movie took liberties - in fact, some of the changes were for the better. But there are scenes from the comic that I would love to see played out.

^ Personally, I'd want the animation to be based on the game based on the movie based on the comics, just to keep with the established tradition.

-obligatory favorite video game series adaptation (Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mario, etc, etc.)

-James Bond movie series but adapted directly from the book series, including the time period they were originally written in

-Batman movie series but set in the original time period the comics started. I have it like all played out in my head. It would be so cool to have a late 30's early 40's take on Batman. We could revive some really old stories and villains. Given the time period, he could also take on the KKK and Nazis. The storyline would be meta in the sense that Batman would start out violent but then shows his villains mercy after meeting Robin (which, IRL, Robin's purpose was to lessen the dark tone of Batman)

-Movie series based on The Shadow - but I'm pretty sure nobody has nor will care about The Shadow ever again ever since that awful 90's movie with Alec Baldwin

-Movie series based on Lloyd Alexander's Prydain Chronicles (they might - I mean, never heard of anyone trying to do it but I think it's too under the radar for people to care. The only adaptation was the Disney movie The Black Cauldron - which mixed the first two books)

-I want a James Bond/Mission: Impossible crossover. Like. Really badly. But there's so much at conflict with copyright issues - two massive IPs - that I know that will never happen.

Forgot a couple before:

Eternal Darkness two-part film

Animorphs TV series, but good (perhaps on Netflix)

I very rarely expect adaptations and stuff to be particularly good, even while I've enjoyed many, so IDK, but I try to keep an open mind. That said, I almost always would prefer a new concept where one's possible.

I think a really solid and faithful Cowboy Bebop game might be something I'd like to see, or inversely a Star Fox series in the same style as Bebop would be in good taste.

Redwall is a great book series. There was that one game more recently, Ghost of a Tale, that was visually more like what I expect people would want from a Redwall, even though it wasn't properly Redwall themed.

Ooh, yeah. I read those again recently (well, kind of recently-----------it was 2006). They held up really well from when I read them in third grade.)

The First Law trilogy would make an awesome movie series, but it'd be a hard R. The books are 'Game of Thrones'-esque in terms of violence, sex and language. Like a funhouse mirror version of Lord of the Rings where Boromir is a murderous berserker, Aragorn is an arrogant self-obsessed swordsman in his country's army, Gandalf is a power-hungry villain, and Frodo is an escaped slave with demon blood. The good guys are probably worse than the bad guys in every way. They're a laugh riot.

A good Witcher adaptation on Netflix. The key word in there is 'good'.



I can't stand Henry Cavill. It's like he knows how poor of a job he's going to do already. At least he won't be disappointed.

Unless we have some big Henry Cavill fans. Doubt it.

Henry Cavill nailed it in Mission Impossible: Fallout, for what it's worth.

Ever check out A Fox in Space? Really solid fan animation. I don't know much about Cowboy Bebop (a crime, I know), but it seems to be in a similar-ish style.
