Now that Season 11 has been announced as the last season...
The eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead, an American post-apocalyptic horror television series on AMC is set to premiere on August 22, 2021, and will consist of 24 episodes. Developed for television by Frank Darabont, the series is based on the eponymous series of comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The executive producers are Kirkman, David Alpert, Scott M. Gimple, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, Joseph Incaprera, Denise Huth, and Gale Anne Hurd, with Kang as showrunner for her third and final season.

This season will adapt material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and focus on the group's encounter with the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that has advanced equipment and almost fifty thousand survivors living in their different settlements.

I skipped the last few season. My interest had waned for a while though, and I still think the first season is the best. It was pretty solid up through the whole Negan thing but I hardly remember anything after that. My favorite episode is probably the first one, the series starts off strong.

If I could only change one thing it'd be sticking closer to the comics. The series ended up having a lot of "filler" and not all the changes were good. Of course, there's changes I'd like for the comic too. I think the best part of the franchise is the games, really.
