One of my favorite movies. I keep meaning to watch it again.
Favorite quote has to be the Inigo Montoya Father line

Still on my all-time favorites list. I'm waiting for the Quibi tribute version to come to Roku.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I watched it this past year with my daughter. I really like it, and it's always been a favorite of my wife's. Inigo is probably my favorite character. The quote I use most is probably, "You keep using that word -- I do not think it means what you think it means." My favorite might be, "Let me explain-- No, there is too much. Let me sum up," though.

Well. I mean, 'Princess Bride' is such a favourite of my extended family's. It's up there with 'Willow' and, like, 'It's a Wonderful Life'.

My favourite guy was always Fezzik. I identified with him. Just the big soft-hearted guy who wanted to do right by everyone, even if they were rotten. I like his friendship and rhyming game with Inigo.

I like that every fight in the movie is a conversation. Like, the fight between Inigo and Westley is so cordial it's as if they were playing a game of cribbage instead of trying to kill each other. (Maybe that's why Vizzini died. He was rude. He was more interested in showing off than having a nice talk with Westley---------being a genius isn't much good if you wind up with all the social graces of a baboon.)

About the only snotty thing I'd ever say about the movie is as regards the music. Firstly, the synths are jarring and don't fool the ear (frequently sounds like 'Warcraft II' is kicking off). Additionally, and this is a smaller thing...most of my dingbat cousins have had the dang Mark Knopfler 'Storybook Love' as part of their wedding service. And I've got a lot of cousins. Puke. Why don't nobody get married to the dulcet strains of The Immortals' 'Sub-Zero----Chinese Ninja Warrior' no more, huh? HUH?!?

I read the book. I like it about as much as the movie. There are things in the book that didn't get into the movie, but like so what. The book is within its own universe a pared-down adaptation of a much boringer book----------within the story, the narrator's dad read the book to him as a sick kid, skipping over the uninteresting parts. Paring it down even further for a movie just feels like an added layer to the joke.

Favourite line is at the end. Fezzik shows up with the horses, and Inigo tells him he did something right, and Fezzik responds, 'Don't worry------I won't let it go to my head.' It's so sweet.
boo--------------a real american weirdo
