The Muppets.
We got any Muppets fans here? I've recently started watching The Muppet Show, and I've been hooked.

Re: The Muppets.
I enjoy most Muppet projects. Didn't much care for their Wizard of Oz or Muppets Tonight, though. And I haven't seen Muppets Now or Muppets From Space yet.

Re: The Muppets.
'Muppet Show' is okay. I don't know, I'm not really into variety shows.
As for movies...I mean, I really like 'The Muppet Movie' and 'Muppets Take Manhattan'. 'Great Muppet Caper' is pretty good. The movies since then have been a little weak (I watch 'Muppet Christmas Carol' mostly for Michael Caine, and 'Muppet Treasure Island' has a few good songs and Tim Curry going for it). I haven't seen anything more recent than that.
[EDIT: Wait, there was a pretty lame Muppet Christmas movie a few years back---------they did a kind of 'It's a Wonderful Life' thing with Kermit. It wasn't any good.]

Re: The Muppets.
What, the bad Christmas movie? Hang on...hey, wow. It was from 2002---------'It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie'. I watched it way later than that with Sis and the kids--------probably holiday season 2013, year before they all moved out to Dakota. I don't remember much that happens in it-----------the Muppet Theatre is in danger of closing (surprise surprise), so they organize a really stupid Christmas show that fails utterly to raise any money, and Kermit wishes he had never been born or something. Joan Cusack was the bad guy, I think? Whatever. Watch it if you're trying to cross all the Muppet flicks off your list, I guess, or if someone forces you to at gunpoint, or if none of the other Muppet-related Christmas shows (i.e. Christmas Carol, 'Muppet Family Christmas' or 'Christmas Eve on Sesame Street') are available.

Re: The Muppets.
I was a fan as a kid, but I lost interest by like 10, I guess. I was more into Batman and stuff by then. The modern stuff seems unbearable but I have pleasant memories of it anyway.

(remembers having had often my self to had been an admirer and follower of a certain group of characters named "Muppets" rather than a fan or fanatic of such a group; imagines my self still being an admirer or follower of such a group in spite of my having had disliked certain certain movies involving some of its members (such as a certain movie named "The Muppets" and a certain series of movies (or TV program) named "The Muppets") since the calendar year 2003 and reports of one of its contributors (a certain Steve Whitmire) getting removed from ever being one of its contributors again and some hopes of mine to retire the group)
(remembers having had often watched and enjoyed a certain "Muppet Babies" series of movies (or TV program) often broadcast by a certain Nickelodeon in years past)

Re: The Muppets.
I watched the Spike Milligan episode of The Muppet Show on Disney+.
Of all the episodes to get a content warning, that one deserved it the most.

Re: The Muppets.
Just my opinion, but it's probably best not to delve into the controversial elements too much. There's plenty of objectionable content but not everyone will agree on what that constitutes.
Is anyone else surprised by the lack of Muppet video games on classic systems? To my knowledge there were none (maybe on PC or some obscure consoles or something). I think Kermit being a frog would've lent itself well to a 2D platformer.

Re: The Muppets.
True, I guess those went under my radar because I was out of the age demographic by the '00s.
Apparently there was actually an NES game though, Muppet Adventure: Chaos at the Carnival. I don't remember it but the box art actually seems really familiar to me for some reason. Maybe I rented it as a little kid and just forgot.
Anybody play these? They don't seem great but the racing one can't be too bad.

Re: The Muppets.
So who are your favourite Muppets? I like Fozzie, and Sam the Eagle, and Rowlf, and Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (I don't care who you are, 'Can You Picture That' is a banger).
Least favourite is Miss Piggy. I disapprove of her moral turpitude and girl-cooties in general

Gonzo & Rowlf are my favorites. My wife loves Kermit.

Re: The Muppets.
Kermit, he's wacky and I like frogs. I don't think I have a least favorite Muppet though. I guess Miss Piggy by default since she, as I recall, often throws tantrums which is annoying.
By the way, I decided to try one of the the Muppet games after talking about them, "The Muppets Movie Adventures". It's a decent 2D platformer, but it's got some pretty bad art and just generally poor presentation. It's structurally fine but mediocre. I personally don't like the look of 2.5D platformers with few exceptions (like Klonoa) so it might just be me.
