FF7 help (Technical, spoilers)

Well..I got FF7 last year and held off on playing it until recently. I...I bought it preowned, so... Anyway, I got up to the room with the pipes and everything labeled "JENOVA" and Sephiroth told the age 16 Cloud to look into a glass. I did so, but when the screen faded out, nothing showed up. I assumed that the game froze, and the music kept playing. If I listened carefully, I could hear the "No/Can't do" sound playing every couple of seconds. I had my mom use a scratch cleaner, and the game worked a bit better, and it ran a little smoother, but it had no effect on that scene. Is there anything I can do without having to buy a brand new copy?

Oi .... this happens to me, too. There's nothing you can do about it, unless I'm wrong. Happens to me in random battles.

Try cleaning your CD again. If it does nothing, and you have the PC version or have a Dex Drive, then you can try asking on GameFAQs to see if anybody has a save right after the Kalm scene.

Never happened to me, but since it's an FMV (and my FMVs are REAL laggy due to scratches on disc 1) that might be it. If you know a friend who ha sit, you could borrow their Disc 1. dunno about the PC version, I have the PS1 version.

Ah...Well, I think my mom threw the cd cleaner stuff out x_x..And I don't have the PC version. BUT, oddly enough, I lent FF7 to my cousin a few months ago, and he got past the part. He got to some part with a berserker Cloud or something. I'd ask him, but then he'd come over to my house and ask to stay all day. I'd much rather have a broken FF7, then a cousin spending the day at my house.

It could be your PSX. Clean the lens with a tissue lightly damped with rubbing alcohol.

I have an unorthodox method to try. My PSX used to do crazy **** when FF7 was doing movies. The thing I heard to do was turn the system upside down and leave it like that for awhile. It worked for me. The old girl still works find even today...since I still use it for PSX games.
Though my problem was different. It didn't not play movies. It didn't play the right one. So the Junon FMV showed me the opening FMV, the Gold Saucer gave me the Junon FMV. And so on.

that happens to me alot, coz i normaly leave my discs on the floor and they get scratched to hell ^^;
sometimes when it does that, you can leave it on that scene for about 30 mins and it will eventualy carry on as normal. this doesnt work all the time though

Go to a game rental store that stills rents out PS games, rent FF7, switch CDs, and complain that it was defective to get a refund.
Goo-goo-g'joob!
