Hardest and Easiest battles?

#1

Post by Sim Kid » Sat May 29, 2004 2:10 pm

(No flaming please)

1. Ozma (FF9)
2. Sephiroth (KH)
3. Riovanes Roof {FFT}
4. Velius (FFT)
5. Omega (FF5)
6. Riku with Keybalde (KH)
7. Lans Tartare (TO, and it's even harder if Kachua's in the battle and you want to keep her alive, course that may just be my game though)
8. Dragon God (CC)
9. Oz&Ozma (TO, and that's only at the end of Chapter 3c. If it's chapter 3L, then it's only Oz and in Chapter 3n, it's only Ozma)
10. Alot of the bosses in Seiken Dentsu 3

Easiest:
1. Li-Grim (FFTA)
2. Lavos (CT)
3. Most of the bosses in FF9
4. Most of the bosses in KH
5. Zeromus (FF4)
6. Azala and Black Tyranno (CT)
7. Exdeath (FF5)
8. Julius (FFA/Sword of Mana)
9. Queklain (FFT)
10. Necron (FF9)

Well, Sephiroth in KH and FF7 was hard, and so was Ozma in FF9. Yu Yevon was without a doubt the easiest. You have auto-life the whole time on all your characters!

Dissapointing for a final boss. But Sephy was cool! :D

These are in no particular order

Hardest
Wiegraf at Riovannes (FFT)
Indalecio, unlimited universe (SO2)
Oz, neutral route (TO) - ok, fine, it's more a matter of saving Selye than beating Oz.
Emerald Weapon (FF7)

Easiest
Altima (FFT)
Dark Cloud (FF3)
Kefka (FF6)
Safer Sephiroth (FF7)

Strangely, I'd say the easiest and hardest Squaresoft fights I've done were the same battle. In Threads of Fate's final boss, I was getting slaughtered until I realized that Rue could block when he had his hat off. After I realized that, I had already figured out what to do with all the other transformations, so the boss became a complete joke.

You'd have trouble teleporting her even if she were sturdier or had a better AI, since you don't get teleport until you recruit Shelley in mid-chapter 4.

The only hard bosses were in the earlier FF games, like the final Kefka. All of the guys in these new games are wimps.

Very true. FFX is the worst offender. Can you say Aeon Overdrive Blitz?

Especially since the best you have at that point is Jump...

[insert quote of Rattan and BlastaMasta's recent posts]

^Psht, Emerald/Ruby Weapon? Hello? And Rattan... you say FFX is easy? Try fighting Nemesis, or even Penance/Das Richter.

Hardest

Sephiroth (KH)
Yojimbo (FFX-2) I had trouble with one aeon...
Ansem (KH) only because you have to battle him like 5 battles in a row then save donald and goofy and battle him again.
Phantom (KH)

Easiest

Yu Yevon (FFX)
Vegnagun (FFX-2)
All the battles to seal the keyhole (except riku possessed by ansem thing) (KH)

^Um, the Behemoth was the battle to seal the keyhole in hollow Bastion. Not Riku.

^ Opps that's right...forgot I haven't played the game in a while, sorry. But that battle with Riku possessed by Ansem was pretty tough.

Funny story -- Pneance is supposed to have something like 12 000 000 HP.

...You kidding? Final Kefka is painfully easy.

And I thought Ultemacia had the most health. (She had around 500,000 last time I checked)

Ha, I don't remember hearing about Penance... I'll have to check that out sometime. And Ultimecia was a *****--I'm sorry, but I had three Lv. 100, two Lv. 90, and one Lv. 80 or 85 and I STILL had issues. Of course, I heard rumors once that it gets harder once Squall hits Lv. 100... But maybe that was just wishful thinking by someone. Oh, but beating the Ultima Weapon was practically a piece of cake by the time I'd reached those levels. >=) Mmm...

I found Necron kind of hard, personally. HOW many attacks did that guy need to get in a turn?? Of course, my levels were in the 50s, I believe. Not bad, but could have been better.

The pseudo-TimeDevourer battle wasn't hard so much as LONG. Very LONG. Oooh, but in Black Elemental form, it pulled a nasty trick on me: it cast Genius on itself, Imbecile on Serge, and then Blackhole. Suffice to say I hadn't planned for THAT. Nighty-night, Serge and co. The true TimeDevourer isn't bad at all--it's just that if you want to beat it the 'right' way with the Chrono Cross, it takes some guessing and waiting. Or you could just go and knock it out the regular but less satisfying way and destroy it's 17,000 HP as I hear it has.

Yu Yevon? That was funny. It was only a matter of time. And Jenova Synthesis in FFVII... Eesh, I loved that battle (and the music, of course!), but it was way short for me. And then Bizarro Sephiroth with the AWFUL load times... And then Safer Sephiroth. That was fun... *Tear* I can't wait for FFXII to see what Square came up with. I'm running out of good VG RPGs to play through...

Anyone who's anyone who's played Final Fantasy Tactics has had to restart that game at least once because they saved in the middle of a siege and got stuck battling Velius with characters way too weak.

Godamn you, Wiegraf...

Guess I'm no one, then. I beat Wiegraf without any outside help. A lot of people lose that fight because they ignore mages. I had enough JP in caster classes for Ramza that he could learn Haste, and that's what allowed me to win the fight, eventually.

By the way, what's the point of saying that Penance has 1,200,000 hp?
