Can anyone tell me why in MMORPG's do people greet you with a "Hail, *insert Name here"?

"Hi, *insert name here*" is much shorter.

They're Nazis. They say "Hail" because if they say "Heil" it'll come off as too obvious.

No, the REAL question is "Why play an MMORPG?" -CSM

Hail and well met.

The RP part stands for Role Play.

^...RP? No one RP's in an MMORPG anymore. Go onto Guild Wars's RP-game or WoW's RP servers and all you see is random bull**** in General Chat.

Or better yet, don't go onto the servers and save your money and time for better things. -CSM

^Seriously, what is with your unending hate for MMORPGs? I can understand a few hating posts, but posting hate in every MMORPG-related thread is going a little far...

Most MMORPGs take place in Midevil(SP?)-inspired lands, which sorta explains the "Hail" thing.

^Mostly it's because I don't think it's a good investment. And if you think I'm extreme, you need to listen to Jay's rants. His rants are much, much more insulting than mine. -CSM

There are servers set aside for Roleplayers, but usually a game more tuned to that kind of play is required.
