FYI, I still think Vaan is a f@g... ish character. In appearance.
I thought he was a girl at first.

I thought he was the illegitimate child of Michael Jackson and one of the children from 'Village of the Damned', at first.

I'm not going to judge the lack of random battles and the addition of realtime battles until I see hwo Square impliments it.

I'd say it's about time Square tried doing something different.

Know what I'd liek to see? An FF where your buddies join in and help you on an epic journey to save the world, SoM style.

Not some crap FF game where your buddies join in on your daily walk... to kill stuff. FFXI style. =p

^Not quite. CC was more action-orientaed than plot-driven. It was meant that way, and that's why alot of people gave it bad rep.

Which is why Square has to stop slapping Final Fantasy on every ****ing game they make. =p

I mean a game with, say, a plot as engrossing as FF7, or Chrono Trigger, where, even if you had only 4 playable characters -- or like Secret of Mana 2, a host of characters you could select to play as, the leftovers becoming NPCs -- there would be character development... all people could run around and battle monsters... oh yeah.

I'm thinking about getting this game, though I only played X, X-2, and VIII. When is FFXII coming out any way?

Prolly sometimes in 2005.

I suggest you play the other FFs, also. Great stuff.

Definetly. Try 7 and 9 also (I'd say 6, but I haven't played it either).

The cast of Square Enix's upcoming PlayStation 2 title Final Fantasy XII continues to grow. Recently revealed information mentions a new playable character and a familiar race.

The newest addition to the cast is Basshe, a commoner of Dalmaska who rose in the military ranks to become a general. As a brave and just leader, Basshe admired by many young people, and he is well-liked in Dalmaska. However, he is surrounded by mystery and tragedy. When the king of Dalmaska is murdered, Basshe becomes the prime suspect. His character is further clouded when he negotiates a surrender with the invading forces of Arcadia. Basshe will join the party as a playable character, but it is possible that his participation will be temporary.

In addition, new screens reveal the existence of moogles in Final Fantasy XII. Like their counterparts in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, they are well-dressed and have long ears. In this version of Ivalice, however, they manage the chocobo stables.

The release dates for Final Fantasy XII remain unclear. It is possible that the game could be released in Japan as early as this winter or as late as next spring. A North American release will follow.

Wait a tic...What about the Nu Mou? If this is supposed to be Ivalice, shouldn't the Nu Mou be there?

...Or maybe the Nu Mou just went underground when the Judges became Violent or racism rose?

ADB – Active Dimension Battle will take the series in a new direction and possibly provide some new life and freshness to the franchise’s battle system. The in-game battles take place directly in the field and there is no shattering glass and the random battles seem to be gone entirely. Characters can be inserted with “Gambits” which gives them special spells and commands, such as fire or ice attacks, for example. There is also an on/off switch on the screen to tell the character whether or not to respond to the gambits during battles. This should make FFXII to be quite an interesting prospect as more details are revealed about the game.

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XII has been delayed and the release date has been pushed back from it’s estimated Summer 2004 release in Japan to somewhere around winter 2004 or spring 2005. The company claimed the main reason for the delay was for quality purposes and other improvements to the game. Square-USA has only listed that highly anticipated FFXII for a 2005 release date.
